In the wake of Akua Donkor's passing, a wave of speculation has stirred up in Ghana’s political sphere, with some suggesting that this loss could significantly impact former President John Mahama’s chances in the upcoming election. These commentators argue that, without Akua Donkor, the ballot positions might shift, potentially removing Mahama from the "lucky" number 8 position he once held. Given that Mahama has reportedly encouraged his supporters to look for this number on the ballot, some believe this change could disadvantage him.
However, Prophet Opambour Ebenezer, popularly known as Prophet 1, has a different take. Speaking on his channel, Prophet 1 TV, he made it clear that Akua Donkor’s passing would have no bearing on Mahama’s electoral success.
Opambour acknowledged the possibility that Mahama’s position could indeed shift from number 8, but he dismissed this as insignificant. He highlighted Mahama's strong, recognizable presence among Ghanaian voters, emphasizing that his influence extends beyond a ballot number. In Prophet Opambour's view, Mahama's longstanding image and recognition will ensure he remains unaffected by any minor ballot adjustment, contrary to the predictions of skeptics.
As Ghanaians prepare to vote, Opambour’s statement brings a fresh perspective to the discussion, suggesting that Mahama's influence in the political landscape remains solid regardless of the ballot reshuffle.
