Ghanaian actor Kalybos recently shared candid insights on his decision to marry his current wife, addressing past relationships and long-held assumptions about commitment. In an episode of the Girls Aloud Podcast, Kalybos opened up about the choices and motivations behind his marriage, challenging popular beliefs around long-term relationships.
During the conversation, Kalybos explained that his choice to settle down with his current wife was influenced by his financial stability and life experience abroad. Reflecting on his journey, he emphasized that marriage was a deliberate, thoughtful choice for him—not a consequence of external pressures or societal expectations.
Kalybos didn’t shy away from discussing a past relationship with his ex-girlfriend Frimpomaa, someone he dated for many years. Although they were together for a long time, he revealed that he never saw her as a potential wife. According to him, simply dating someone for a long period doesn’t mean marriage should automatically follow.
“Being in a relationship for a longer period doesn’t mean you have to settle with the person no matter what,” Kalybos shared, pointing out that love and marriage are personal decisions that go beyond years spent together.
His words resonate with many who have been in long-term relationships without necessarily feeling the pull to marry. Kalybos’ reflections remind us that marriage is ultimately about shared values, mutual goals, and the right timing, rather than the length of a relationship alone.
