Ashanti Regional Chairman for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Bernard Antwi Boasiako, popularly known as Chairman Wontumi, has expressed unwavering confidence in the party’s chances in the upcoming December 7 general election. He believes the NPP, led by Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia as its presidential candidate, will secure a decisive victory.
Addressing supporters at a rally in Breman in the Ashanti Region, Chairman Wontumi stated that the NPP is set to put the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in what he described as "big trouble." He predicted that the NPP would not only win but would do so by a significant margin, with a goal of surpassing the 1 million-vote lead seen in the 2016 election. He reflected on previous elections, noting that while the party achieved a 1 million vote lead in 2016, the margin dropped to 600,000 in 2020, which he attributed to the effects of COVID-19, as many Ghanaians stayed home due to the pandemic.
Confident that these challenges are behind them, Wontumi emphasized that the NPP has a variety of strategies prepared to secure a substantial lead in this election. “We have 1 million ways to win this election,” he said. “The NDC is in trouble.”
With a firm belief in the strength of the party’s campaign and strategies, Chairman Wontumi’s statements are resonating strongly with NPP supporters, fueling anticipation for the December 7 showdown.
