Ghana's President Nana Akufo-Addo has unveiled a statue of himself at the entrance of Effia-Nkwanta Regional Hospital in Sekondi, marking the conclusion of his one-day thank-you tour of the Western Region. The statue honors the president's initiatives in the region, including the rehabilitation of Effia-Nkwanta Regional Hospital, the construction of the 3-tier Sinohydro interchange, and Takoradi Market Circle redevelopment.
According to Western Regional Minister Kwabena Okyere Darko Mensah, these projects demonstrate Akufo-Addo's commitment to the region's development. However, some of these projects remain incomplete, with a few reportedly stalled.
The unveiling has sparked mixed reactions across social media platforms, with some criticizing the move as self-aggrandizing, while others see it as a legitimate celebration
