Kumawood actor-turned-show host, Kwaku Manu, popularly known as Bob Ciga, recently shared a pointed message for Ghanaian celebrities diving into politics. In a candid video, the actor expressed his confusion over why so many local actors, actresses, and musicians publicly align themselves with political parties, especially with the December 7 general election drawing near.
While acknowledging that it’s within their rights to voice political opinions, Kwaku Manu urged these celebrities to exercise caution and "learn sense" in handling their endorsements. He stressed the importance of being mindful about what they say, cautioning that careless or inflammatory statements could end up alienating voters and even harm the public’s perception of their favored party.
Kwaku Manu didn’t stop with the celebrities; he also had words for political party leaders. He advised them to encourage their celebrity endorsers to approach politics with responsibility and tact. According to him, the goal should be to engage voters thoughtfully, without stirring unnecessary tension.
In his straightforward style, Kwaku Manu’s message reminds celebrities that their influence comes with a responsibility. As they enter the political fray, he hopes they’ll remember to prioritize respectful and constructive discourse.
