Bernard Antwi Bosiako, aka Chairman Wontumi, Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has issued a stern warning to COP Kofi Boakye, former Ashanti Regional Police Commander. Wontumi alleges that Boakye, suspected to be an NDC sympathizer, is secretly training individuals to disrupt the upcoming general elections.
On his Wontumi Radio show, Chairman Wontumi:
- Accused COP Kofi Boakye of training NDC mercenaries to perpetrate violence.
- Claimed Boakye had previously lobbied for the Inspector-General of Police (IGP) position in an NPP government.
- Threatened to "deal with" Boakye, stating he is "stronger" than the retired police officer.
- Called on citizens to arrest Boakye and bring him to him for handing over to the police.
Concerns about election violence and disruption are legitimate, but the appropriateness of Wontumi's threats is debatable. What are your thoughts on this development? Share your comments below!
