Renowned Ghanaian broadcaster Ohemaa Woyeje has sparked a heated debate by criticizing the family of late gospel singer KODA for their choice of funeral theme, "Yesu adi Nkunim" (God is the winner).
KODA passed away in April after allegedly taking wrong medication for eight months, leaving behind a wife and children. Ohemaa Woyeje questioned the family's decision, wondering if it was a genuine praise to God or a mockery.
Concerns Raised:
Ohemaa Woyeje highlighted the perceived insensitivity of celebrating KODA's passing.
The family's choice of theme seemed to downplay the tragic circumstances surrounding KODA's death.
The broadcaster emphasized the impact on KODA's young family.
Social Media Post:
Ohemaa Woyeje expressed her concerns on social media, stating:
"So 'Yesu adi nkunim' in this circumstance? Is that not degrading to God? Why do we make God look bad in unfortunate situations? A 45-year-old man (KODA) died, leaving a wife and children... apparently took the wrong medication for 8 months, and we say,'Yesu adi nkunim' - is that a praise to God or mockery?"
