A devastating attack has shaken the northern region of Ghana, leaving eight innocent travellers dead and many more traumatized. Gunmen blocked the Bolgatanga-Tamale highway near Gbimsi, close to Walewale, and opened fire on unsuspecting passengers.

A survivor of the horrific incident recounted the ordeal: "I was traveling from Sunyani to Paga. Upon reaching Walewale, people had mounted roadblocks and were searching for individuals to kill. The incident lasted for over an hour, yet security did not respond."
