"Former NDC Deputy GS Counters Akufo-Addo's 'Dumsor is Over' Claim"
Koku Anyidoho, former deputy General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), challenges President Nana Addo Akufo-Addo's statement regarding the resolution of recent power outages. Anyidoho's Twitter response on May 6, 2024, disputes the President's assertion, citing, "It has not been resolved oooo!!!!," alongside a Citi News flyer of Akufo-Addo's claim initially made on May 1.
President Akufo-Addo, addressing the 2024 May Day celebration, declared that recent power outages, known as 'dumsor,' have been addressed following maintenance work on transformers by the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG). He expressed confidence in a restored stable power supply nationwide, without reports of load shedding. Akufo-Addo stated, "Issues surrounding the maintenance of the transformers have been resolved. Indeed, we have witnessed a stable power supply across the country with no load shedding reported anywhere yesterday... I am confident that the unfortunate era of dumsor will not return," during his speech at the Workers’ Day observation.
